Armpit Sweating
Someone who sweats excessively know full well that you can sweat just about anywhere on your body, not just your armpits. Sweating occurs in the genital area, your hands, between your toes (which could lead to a serious fungus infection if one is not careful), your back, and your forehead and other parts of your face. The list can be pretty long of spots on the body where one could be plagued with excessive sweating, but even if we are burdened with excessive sweating in other parts of the body; armpit sweating seems to be the form that most people focus on when you think of excessive sweating.
So, it is no surprise that most of the deodorant and antiperspirant companies concentrate most of their business and advertising on that area of the body. Most people only have to deal with armpit sweating, so the companies making those products only focus on the armpit area.
So that is the reason we are subjected to hour after hour of product advertising for underarm deodorants or antiperspirants. And think of all the time and money put into the ads for sweating of the feet. That's the next area prone to sweating for the average person. Good thing there is not ad campaigns for all the other areas that could have a need for eliminating sweating. We'd be inundated with ads for facial sweating, back sweating, or even scalp sweating.
In spite of, or as a result of, all these advertising campaigns, the average population is very tuned in to armpit sweating and will go to the ends of the earth to cover it up, or not allow any signs of sweating at all... whether they are dealing with normal amounts of sweating or excessive amounts. Our everyday conscious thought processes over sweating tend to manifest themselves as a phobia in the general public, so much so, that we are so very embarrassed when caught with dark sweat stains under our arms on our clothes.
And what about the embarrassment that ensues when we find we have been sweating lightly and are starting to smell a little off? Why is it such an awful thing in the eyes of the public? Having an odor about you because you are sweating somewhat is not something to be proud of or to ignore, but why do we become so fixated on it that we can't think of anything else when we realize that someone nearby may be aware of that odor?
It's not unusual to want to avoid meeting up with someone you know when you are in that state, but don't forget, it's all part of life as we know it, and that's what deodorants and antiperspirants are for... to help us take care of these little problems as they appear.
Stay on top of your bouts of armpit sweating of all kinds, by practicing an effective daily hygiene regimen and add to that a good diet (easy on the garlic and onions) and use a good deodorant. Most of your armpit sweating problems should be kept under control with this routine and if you do need more help, there are plenty of other treatments available to you.
