Sweating Hands

You are meeting someone for the first time, and just before you go to shake their hand, you have that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach because you have realized too late that you have sweating hands. If it happens even once to you, you will forever be aware of it because of the embarrassment it carries with it, and the knowledge that if it happened once, it can happen again.

Today, with the way things are structured socially and the need to be picture perfect is there not only on a social level, but also in business; such embarrassing things such as sweating need to be hidden from sight. There is nothing more embarrassing on a meet and greet level than to have sweating hands or damp palms.

If you are a sufferer of the problem of sweating hands, you may try to go to unnatural lengths just to rid yourself of the problem. Some people try using antiperspirants, but there is little help there and can often compound the problem by leaving a sticky residue on your hands that interferes with your day to day life. Rather than messing with antiperspirants, you might want to look into changing your dietary habits. Just doing that can make a big difference in how your body functions and sweats.

Stronger tactics may be needed if your sweating hands problem is genetic. If that is the case, consult your doctor to find a solution that can work for you and control your problem.

Other than genetics, there could be other things in your life that may be causing you to suffer from sweating hands and you will need to do some searching to find the cause. One of the most common culprits when it comes to sweating hands, is hand and body lotions and creams.

Sometimes, a little bit of dampness is an indication that you are healthy. For example, completely dry skin is not healthy either---that's why creams and lotions are used in the first place. But don't go crazy using those products----sweating hands aren't always an indication of a health problem; it could just be your hands trying to breathe and reacting to all that cloying cream.

You may want to stop your usage of creams or lotions for a while, or find a very light cream that will give just a minimal coverage. Heavy creams can cause sweating hands and make things worse. If you use creams on your body, make sure you wash your hands well after applying it to get the cream off your hands. Remember every little bit helps.
